Mister Lister FAQ
Commonly asked questions:
1. How can I sort out the checked items from the unchecked items?
On the List screen, shake the iPhone moderately vigorously. If nothing happens, shake a little harder. Once triggered, an animation will shake the screen and all the checked items will fall to the bottom of the list, leaving only unchecked items at the top. When performing this trick, be sure to hold on to the iPhone!
2. How can I remove an item from the current list?
There are three methods for removing an item. One is the standard iPhone way of swiping the item until the Delete button appears, then tapping Delete. The second is to tap 'Edit' on the top right corner of the List screen, then tapping the delete button. Finally, if you're on the Edit List screen, you can reduce the item's quantity down to 0 (zero). Upon saving, the item will be removed along with any other item on the list that now has zero quantity.
3. Is it possible to create a template list?
Yes! Simply create a list like normal, putting on it only the items you most often purchase when you go shopping. Then, on the Action screen, select to make the list 'Sticky.' When a list is 'sticky', it appears always on the top of your shopping lists for easy access. (You'll know it's sticky because it has a green sticky indicator.) Then, whenever you need to go shopping, simply create a copy of that list, adding and removing items as necessary.
4. Can I see just the items in my cart on the Edit List screen?
This is among some of the more obscure features because there's no easy way to know it's there. If you're on the Edit List, you're usually given a list of all the items you've purchased previously. However, simply shake the iPhone (moderately vigourously) and the Edit screen will change to show only items in the current list. This is an easy way to edit the quantities of multiple items at once. Just be sure to hold on to the iPhone. (Try shaking the List screen sometime!)
